Welcome to the latest edition of the Anime Limited Newswire. Below you will find the latest up to date news from us!

NEWS/GENERAL UPDATES

~ Before going any further we want to take a moment to highlight (and in case you might have missed it) that we posted a photo gallery and video unboxing of the DVD and Collector’s Edition Blu-ray editions of our latest release, Blood Lad. You can get all the information relating to our release (including said unboxings) HERE. Did we mention it’s available now?

Dragon Ball fans, does this pose seem familiar to you or is it just us?

~ Also available now as a Standard Edition Blu-ray is Satoshi Kon’s classic, Perfect Blue. You can order your copy HERE. If you haven’t already be sure to check out the trailer we released (back when we first brought the Collector’s Edition and Standard DVD versions to the UK.)

~ A quick note for you that Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning [Standard Edition] on both DVD and Blu-ray has been pushed back due to approval times. (We’re looking to utilise different artwork to what was on our Collector’s Edition version.) The new date of release is 16th March. You can pre-order it from Amazon UK HERE. (This has been updated accordingly in our release schedule section at the end of this update.)

~ For those of you wanting to get in early with pre-ordering some of our April – June releases, you can do so now at Amazon UK! Click on the corresponding links below to pre-order them.

When it comes to specific details about how each of the above will be presented, they’re all in the approval phase as the moment so we’re unable to comment at this time. But as soon as that changes we’ll be sure to let you all know.

~ Further to that, focusing specifically on Baccano for a moment we know a fair few of you have been asking if it’s worth upgrading from the previous UK DVD release of the series? We’re not just saying this because we’re releasing the Blu-ray of it, but our answer is yes. Considering the age of the show it’s a brilliant presentation of it and if you’re someone who leans towards Blu-ray no matter the title, it’s definitely worth the upgrade.

The AnimeUKNews forum member mangaranga posted images (HERE) taken from the Aniplex of America Blu-ray release (which utilises the same master tapes that are being used for our Blu-rays.) You can see the quality is top notch, and if our plans come to fruition for what we’d like do with the Collector’s Edition we should be able to bring a great package to not only your Blu-ray collection, but for the UK as a whole.

~ For those of you who have Netflix subscriptions this past weekend there were three new additions from us. These being Space Dandy Season 2, Tokyo Ghoul and Terror In Resonance. All three are available to watch now!

REPLACEMENT UPDATES

~ Following on from our Gurren Lagann update last week, here’s a follow up for you. The next wave of digipacks are in the process of being sent. All going well many of you should start receiving them shortly. (We’ll be sure to follow up on this accordingly in the newswire next week, or sooner via our social media channels.)

~ And just to include a mention of them in here, there are no new updates on either Durarara!! or Patema Inverted at this time.

KICKSTARTER UPDATE

~ Patema Inverted Kickstarter backers! Following our update just over a week ago now, there has been a new update since! If you haven’t checked your email inbox already, you can read the update on the Kickstarter website HERE.

~ Mai Mai Miracle backers, an update should be coming soon. (Hopefully within the next week or two – lots of things going on behind the scenes, so we’ve been waiting to give you a proper update once all of that is sorted.)

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

In a new section to the Newswire, I’m going to take a question (or perhaps multiple some weeks) that we get asked which may be of interest to you. It’s also a nice way of being able to include a subject that may or may not regularly fit into the the newswire.

Question: I’ve noticed that the French office of Anime Limited have a variety of titles that aren’t being/haven’t yet been released in the UK. Is there a chance of these coming to the UK?

A good question and one we know a lot of you ponder on quite a bit. To answer as concisely as possible, it really depends on the title in question. Admittedly while writing this answer I can already think of lots of titles that have come out from our French team that I would love to see have a chance in the UK. But the reality is some of them are simply not possible. This could be because the title in question is simply to niche to be able to justify bringing to the UK, we may only have the French license for that particular title – you’ll notice that some titles our French office have distributed have been handled by other distributors here in the UK, or perhaps another reason altogether.

But this being said, there are some titles which have only come out in the UK that the French fans are quite envious of. (Our Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray releases being a prime example of this.) So it works both ways as well.
