Newswire #18 – 5th May 2015

May 5, 2015 · 6 comments

With more movement than the Shifting Sand Land in Mario 64, how’s that for a reference, it’s the latest edition of the Anime Limited Newswire.

NEWS/GENERAL UPDATES

~ First of all a big thanks to everyone who came to our panel at MCM Belfast Comic Con this past Saturday. It was great to see so many people and we had some great questions too! During the panel we were happy to confirm that Plastic Memories will be getting a Blu-ray and DVD release from us in 2016, details about our upcoming release of 009 Re:Cyborg and that Tokyo Ghoul is tentatively schedule for release on Blu-ray and DVD from us in October. You can read our Bonus Newswire posted on Saturday evening HERE.

~ We’re hoping to be able to reveal our plans for MCM London Comic Con within the next week! So keep an eye for details on those as we can share them.

~ Looking ahead there are some dates shifting we need to make you aware of. Tiger & Bunny The Rising has been shifted back to late June (exact date TBC at this time.) As mentioned in the bonus Newswire from the weekend 009 Re:Cyborg will be coming to Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD and Standard Edition DVD in July (exact date is TBC at this time). Nerima Daikon Brothers is also getting pushed back, but you’ll be happy to hear things are still moving forward on this and all going well we’re hoping to be able to confirm a new date soon (also hoping it’ll be around July/August time.)

~ Some of you may have noticed that some retailers are listing our release of Bacanno as now coming out in December. Just to make this clear, it hasn’t been pushed back to December but it won’t be coming out in June. The December date being listed is simply a placeholder until a new date is locked in.

~ However we are happy to confirm that production on our Standard Edition Blu-ray and DVD release of Durarara!! has allowed us to bring the release date forward to 18th May! (Just a few weeks away.) As such we will have copies on both formats available at MCM London Comic Con. Expect a post highlighting our release of this (including an unboxing) later this week.

~ Speaking of Durarara!! – and there’ll be more details in the ‘Replacement Update’ section below, we’re hoping to be receiving replacement discs within the next week so we’re hoping to be getting ball rolling with fulfilling replacement soon.

~ For those of you interested we can confirm the English dub of Psychic School Wars in in the process of being recorded! We’re hoping to be able to reveal the cast list in the near future as well as our plans for the film.

~ We’re going to be announcing our full lineup for Q3 soon, but we do want to make a note that Fate/kaleid liner Prisim Illya is looking like it’ll be coming in July. And we can confirm today that there will be a Standard Edition DVD and Collector’s Edition Blu-ray coming. (We’ll have more details on the Collector’s Edition for you soon.)

~ In case you missed it our latest podcast is available now! You can get all the details on it HERE.

~ Did you catch the international trailer for Miss Hokusai that we released last week? Check it out below.

~ *Simulcast Update* The latest episodes of Seraph Of The End, The Heroic Legend Of Arslan and Plastic Memories are available to watch now! Get the details HERE.

~ Here’s a roundup of some of the great features we’ve had at our site the past few weeks:

REPLACEMENT UPDATE

~ We have officially launched our replacement scheme for Durarara!! Blu-ray Collector’s Edition. Get the full details HERE. (If you’re planning to apply for replacement discs please take the time to read all the details posted.) The latest update is that we’re anticipating to be receiving the first wave of replacement discs this week! We’re going to be working our hardest to get these out as quickly as possible and will be sure to post updates on this accordingly.

– A reminder that we are logging in applicants as we go and are intending to send a confirmation email to everyone who applies on a weekly basis. We ask that you please allow a few weeks to receive the confirmation from when you first apply. (The next wave of confirmation emails will be send by the end of this week.)

Does Anime Limited have the UK license to Sword Art Online Season 2? Or will it go to Manga Entertainment? I'm asking as the first volume(First 7 eps) is being released by Aniplex USA on the 30th of June. It'd be nice to get a UK release this year.

"We’re going to be announcing our full lineup for Q3 soon, but we do want to make a note that Prisim Illya is looking like it’ll be coming in July." Dont you mean Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya? There is no other anime with that similiar name. And if so I can assume it comes with the sentai dub I may hope?:D

That is correct and I can confirm it will include the English language dub too. I've updated our newswire with the complete title. ^JG

I take the lack of an answer to my question to mean you don't have Sword Art Online 2. Thanks anyway.

I doubt they will because it was released by MangaUk before.

I agree, I was just hoping it would get a proper release like what they've done with Kill la Kill. I genuinely haven't read any news about who has the UK license to SAO 2. Which is odd, because this anime was easily one of the top 3 anime shows released in Japan last year, I thought people would be rushing to license here. Shame.
