It’s time for another edition of our weekly newswire. Today we have changes to our upcoming release schedule to note. Read on below for details.

NEWS/GENERAL UPDATES

It’s been a very busy week here at Anime Limited HQ which has involved a few scheduling changes needing to be made for our upcoming releases. Below is breakdown of what has moved and why it has happened. (Then at the very bottom of this update you will find the latest version of our release schedule.)

Please note that all of the changes noted below will be updated with retailers shortly.

~ First of all Kill la Kill Box 2 has now been pushed back to a 23rd March release (although it’s worth noting that is still a tentative date at this time.) The reason this has happened was approval times on the packaging. We apologise for the short notice on this. And we are aware some retailers have been listing an alternative date to what we were advertising from when it was originally listed, but that was purely coincidental.

~ Unfortunately the Makoto Shinkai Place Promised In our Early Days/Voices Of A Distant Star Twin Pack is having to be delayed again. (Don’t worry, we’ve already rolled our eyes A LOT about this.) The reason for this is because there are issues regarding access to the English language audio from the English rights holder. Internally we have toyed with the idea of making this a subtitle-only release to make our announced date, but we know there are a lot of people who want to watch these with English audio so we sticking with making it a dual-language release. As such we’ve now marked the date at TBC in the schedule at the bottom of the page as tentative.

~ In a complete change of plans, our upcoming Standard Edition Blu-ray release of Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning has been cancelled. (This will be updated with retailers accordingly shortly.) The reason for this is that we decided it would be a great opportunity to release both The Beginning and The Rising as a Standard Edition movie twin pack at around the same time as the Collector’s Edition of Tiger & Bunny – The Rising!

We’ll have more details on this for you soon, but we can tell you that this Standard Edition Tiger & Bunny Movie Twin Pack release will be available on 27th April and have an SRP of £19.99 on DVD and £24.99 on Blu-ray.

~ Due to a production delay we regret to say that Wings Of Honneamise will now be released in mid-late April. (An exact new date is TBC at this time.)

~ In light of the date shuffle for the above titles, we are going to be bringing forward the release date for the HAL [Standard Edition] DVD and Blu-ray. We’re working to lock in a date, but it will be in the month of March.

~ Speaking of Wings of Honneamise, (as revealed last week on our social media channels) here’s a glimpse at the Collector’s Edition version. Though the release date is shifting, you can still pre-order your copy from Amazon UK HERE.

~ Remember we mentioned last week about us giving our website a new coat of paint. Expect to see this new coat of paint soon! (And for those wondering this will involve a big update to our web shop as well. This will include the ability to pre-order our upcoming Q2 releases – which we know a lot of you have been asking about.)

 

REPLACEMENT UPDATES

~ As a heads up, either later this week or next week expect us to announce details of a disc replacement programme for the Blu-ray Collector’s Edition of Durarara!!.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Q: Have you guys ever considered doing a podcast of some kind?

It’s funny you mention that because (all going well) we’re planning to record and release a pilot episode this week. Since I (Jeremy) joined Team Anime Limited it’s one of the things I’ve really wanted to do. So expect some more news on this later in the week.
