Crunchyroll brings UK premieres of unaired series to MCM London Comic Con

If you’re anything like us, you’ll grab any opportunity to catch some new anime for the first time, and love nothing more than a new season rolling around so that you can immerse yourself in a fountain of new titles. So, what if we were to tell you that attendees to MCM London Comic Con next week will get to catch the first couple of episodes of two forthcoming anime series several months before they air in Japan?
Today we’re happy to confirm that our good friends at Crunchyroll will be offering up just such an opportunity at MCM London Comic Con on the evening of Friday, 25th October 2019, as they bring the opening episodes of two new titles to the event for UK fans to see for the first time prior to them airing on the streaming service in January 2020.
What’s more, this special premiere event will be introduced by none other than celebrity anime fan himself, Jonathan Ross! All in all, it’s a terrific opportunity the likes of which we’ve never really seen before, so be sure to come along so that you can boast to your friends about having your finger well and truly on the pulse of new anime! Crunchyroll New Anime UK Premiere Event
Date: Friday, 25th October 2019
Time: 5PM – 7PM
Location: Centre Stage, MCM London Comic Con
Media personality and well-known anime fan Jonathan Ross will be on-hand to host and introduce the UK premiere of not one but two new anime series, months prior to their TV broadcast and streaming debuts in January 2020. This event will allow to sample the first two episodes of the following series:
IN/SPECTRE
Based on a supernatural mystery novel series penned by Kyo Shirodaira, this anime adaptation of In/Spectre is produced by Brain’s Base (Durarara!!, Princess Jellyfish), written by Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!) and directed by Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Uta Kata).
Synopsis: What do you get when you cross romance and mystery with the supernatural? The new mystery thriller with a romantic edge from the creator of Blast of Tempest and The Record of a Fallen Vampire!
Both touched by yokai spirits, Kotoko and Kuro have gained unique superhuman powers. But to gain her powers, Kotoko has given up an eye and a leg, and Kuro’s personal life is in shambles. So when Kotoko suggests they team up to deal with renegades from the spirit world, Kuro doesn’t have many other choices, but Kotoko might just have a few ulterior motives…

SOMALI AND THE FOREST SPIRIT
Based on a fantasy manga written by Yako Gureishi, Somali and the Forest Spirit is produced by Satelight (Cannon Busters, Symphogear XV) and directed by Kenji Yasuda (Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, Macross Delta).
Synopsis: The world is ruled by a diversity of inhuman beings, who persecuted humans and drove them to near-extinction.
One day, the forest guardian Golem meets a human girl.
This is a chronicle of a journey that would bind a member of the dying “human” clan to the forest guardian Golem, as father and daughter.
