[UNBOXING] Space Dandy Season 2

The time has nearly arrived! We’re just over a week away from the release of Space Dandy Season 2 in the UK! We’ll be releasing it as a Collector’s Edition DVD and Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set from 24th August. This post is designed to tell you (and show you) everything you need to know about our release. So let’s get onto all the details you wanting to know.

WHERE CAN I BUY IT?

Ahead of release if you want to pre-order you can do so from Amazon UK HERE, Zavvi, Base.com, our web shop HERE and with other online retailers as well.

We can confirm that on day of release HMV branches across the UK will be stocking both the DVD and Blu-ray versions of this. Of course you’ll also be able to order it from the likes of Amazon UK and other online retailers as well.

WHAT IS Space Dandy ABOUT?

If you’re reading this post and have seen Space Dandy before, do check out our UK Exclusive trailer for Season 1 below (and feel free to share it too!) We like to describe Space Dandy as an almost anime version of the TV programme, Red Dwarf. It’s great fun and well worth checking out.

What’s inside? WHAT’S ON THE DISCS? ARE THERE ANY DIFFERENCES?

When it comes to what’s inside the box, it’s exactly the same. That goes for on-disc content too, it’s same on each disc regardless of whether you opt for the Collector’s Edition Blu-ray or Collector’s Edition DVD versions.

• Rigid case featuring a design by Yoshiyuki Ito (character designer of Space Dandy) featuring the cast of Space Dandy commissioned exclusively for our release!
• Amaray case containing the discs. (3 x DVD discs or 2 x Blu-ray discs depending on the version you purchase.)
• 148 page art book
• 20 Art Cards showcasing art from the Japanese release artwork of Space Dandy.

 

Disc contents

• Episodes 14-26 (with both the English dub and original Japanese audio with subtitles.)

• Clean Opening and Ending title sequences
• Digital Art Gallery
• Space Dandy Trailers
• Clean ending sequences for episodes 20, 21, 22, 23, 25 & 26.

 

What does the collector’s edition look like?

When it comes to sizing, our Collector’s Edition release is the same height as our Season 1 Collector’s Edition release, however it is slightly wider given the contents inside. Take a look at the photos below and see for yourself.

NOTE: Photos below are of the Collector’s Edition DVD version of Space Dandy Season 2 specifically. Aside from the disc count (there being 3 x DVD discs or 2 x Blu-ray discs depending on which version you pickup) and information displaying details on the corresponding format, each version is identical.
