Anime Limited Newswire #4 – 27th Jan. 2015

Welcome to the latest edition of the Anime Limited Newswire. Today it’s a big day as we’re revealing some details on what can expect from our March releases and you’ll get to find out what titles you can expect from us between April and June this year! There’s going to be a lot of information to take in, but it’s all important and well worth reading!

NEWS/GENERAL UPDATES

~ Before going any further we want to take a moment to highlight (and in case you missed it) that we posted a photo gallery and video unboxing of the DVD and Collector’s Edition Blu-ray editions of our next release, Blood Lad last week. You can get all the information relating to our release (including said unboxings) HERE.

~ Also being released next week is the Standard Edition Blu-ray of Satoshi Kon’s classic, Perfect Blue. More details HERE.

~ Now it’s time for details on what you can expect (with the physical presentation) when it comes to our March releases. (Please note that we’re unable to provide preliminary pictures of the products themselves of the at this time as all are still in the pre-manufacturing process, but once we can we’ll be sure to share images with you. Images below are for used as reference only.)

Kill La Kill Part 2
For those of you who saw our photo gallery unboxing of Part 1 (See HERE) it’s going to be the same as this, but obviously with different artwork and such. Both DVD and Blu-ray versions of Part 2 will contain episodes 10-19 over 2 discs.

As was the case with Part 1 the package will come with a rigid art box, a digipack housing the discs and it will also come with an over 200-page art book. But this time with the art book we’ve been able to achieve something very cool as we (the UK) are the only territory outside of Japan getting this art book! So the only you can get this art book outside of Japan is with our Kill La Kill Part 2 release.

Spoken languages once again will be English and original Japanese (with English subtitles.)

On-disc extras will include Clean Opening and Ending title sequences along with Web Previews.

 

Makoto Shinkai Voices Of A Distant Star/The Place Promised In Our Early Days Twin Pack

Both the DVD and Blu-ray versions will comes packed in a standard amaray case but will also come with a 12-page booklet and a reversible sleeve design as well. (We should be able to confirm the contents of the booklet and on-disc extras soon.)

Languages: Spoken English, Japanese with English subtitles for both features.

 

 

 

Wings Of Honneamise (aka Royal Space Force)
For this there will be two versions available. A standard DVD edition containing the film and a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray+DVD package that will come with a rigid box, a digipack to house the both the two discs and a 20-page booklet. This design echoing what we’ve done for previous Collector’s Edition releases of ours for Cowboy Bebop, Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning and Blood Lad (See HERE) but will be adjusted accordingly for this particular title.

(We’ll be able to confirm exact contents of the booklet and on-disc extras soon.)

We can also confirm that as things stand the film will be presented in it’s complete uncut form, however (all going well) we are intending to make the scene that was removed from the original UK home video release (many years ago) chapter marked to make it easy for those who don’t want to watch it to skip past it.

~ Looking ahead past March, it’s now time for us to announce our lineup of titles set for release between April and June this year. As a note, dates listed are still tentative and subject to change.

• 29th June: Space Dandy Complete Season 1 & 2 Set (DVD only)
• 29th June*: Gankatsuou – The Count Of Monte Cristo (DVD, Blu-ray)

~ We know some of you have been asking about many other upcoming titles of ours such as Full Metal Panic, Terror In Resonance, and Escaflowne, we haven’t got any concrete details we can share with you at this time but we’re hoping to have more information available on those and more soon.

 

REPLACEMENT UPDATES

~ We promised there would be some kind of update about Gurren Lagann Ultimate Edition digipack replacements for you and with that said here’s the latest on where things stand. (All going well) our supplier is hoping to start sending the next wave of digipacks before the end of this week (w/c 26th January.) This isn’t to say they will have all be sent out during this week, but the process will be underway. We fully appreciate it’s been a long wait for some of you and once again we apologise for the delay.

NOTE: If you’ve had a problem with your Gurren Lagann Ultimate Edition packaging but haven’t made it known to us, before doing anything else please vist HERE and take a few moments to fill out our survey so a replacement can be arranged for you.

~ And just to include a mention of them in here, there are no new updates on either Durarara!! or Patema Inverted at this time.

 

KICKSTARTER UPDATE

~ Patema Inverted Kickstarter backers! Have you checked your email over the weekend? An update was sent to all backers this past Friday. (Backers can also see the update on the Kickstarter website HERE.)

~ Mai Mai Miracle backers, we haven’t forgotten about you. There isn’t a new update to bring you at this time but as soon as there is one we’ll be sure to let you know.
