Scotland Loves Anime kicks off in Glasgow tomorrow but today we have a special announcement in relation to the Edinburgh weekender next week. On Friday 16th October many of the short films from the world famous Japan Anima(tor)’s Expo will be presented on the big screen at the Edinburgh Filmhouse for the first time in the UK. (Tickets for this are available now HERE.)

But today we can announce that there will be two special guests at this screening, whose work is being showcased during this same screening!

First of all we have Mahiro Maeda, whose directing credits include Evangelion 3.0, Gakutsuou: The Count Of Monte Cristo and Final Fantasy: Unlimited. When it comes to his work as part of the Anima(tor) Expo, he directed short #6 “20min Walk From Nishi-Ogikubo Station, 2 Bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, 2mos Deposit, No Pets Allowed” and short #13 “Kanon”.

Hibiki Yoshizaki who has also previously worked on Evangelion 3.0 plus Psycho-Pass 2, was the director of the famous “ME! ME! ME!” Anima(tor) Expo short (pictured left), the third in the series.

Both guests will be attendance of the screening and will be taking part in a post-screening Q&A session.

If you’re in the Edinburgh area we strongly urge you not to miss our on the chance to see these shorts on the big screen, let alone with two people involved in them as well.
