ABOUT THE CODE GEASS FILM TRILOGY

The first film in the series, Initiation, was screened in cinemas by ourselves in early 2018 and then released on Blu-ray towards the end of the same year.

CODE GEASS: LELOUCH OF THE REBELLION II: TRANSGRESSION

Synopsis: This updated theatrical presentation of SUNRISE’s classic mech-infused series continues with the thrilling second instalment of the saga.

Having racked up numerous miraculous victories against the odds in his quest to end their tyrannical reign across the globe, Lelouch Lamperouge – via his anonymous public persona of Zero – has shocked the  empire of Britannia to its core. From humble beginnings, Zero is now the leader of the Black Knights, an increasingly powerful para-military organisation with the equipment and tactical nous to match even Britannia’s finest.

However, there are still plenty of hurdles in Lelouch’s path… not least close friend turned rival Suzaku Kururugi, whose own abilities also appear to be reaching their zenith. With more unexpected arrivals and appearances as the conflict between Britannia and the Black Knights intensifies, the ability of Lelouch to navigate this increasingly complex game of chess – and the sacrifices he’s willing to make – will be tested to the limit.

With the second film in the trilogy, we’re keeping with the theme which started with our release of the first first film! So it’ll all come packed in a rigid case (pictured left) and inside that you’ll find an Amaray case that will hold the Blu-ray disc, and additionally inside that you’ll find 8 art cards depicting a mixture of moments from the film as well as some of the great art created for it. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s even an A3-sized poster featuring the awesome artwork from the rigid case.

As was the case with the first film, the only language option on this set is Japanese with English subtitles. The reason for this is that although the original TV series was dubbed into English, this film trilogy was not.

CODE GEASS LELOUCH OF THE REBELLION III: GLORIFICATION

Synopsis: This updated theatrical presentation of SUNRISE’s classic mech-infused series comes to its shocking climax in the final film of the trilogy.

With his spell of impressive successes seemingly behind him, Lelouch Lamperouge’s hopes of destroying the Britannian Empire presided over by his father are crumbling at an alarming rate. With his sister kidnapped, his former friend Suzaku ignoring his pleas for help, and his organisation the Black Knights losing their faith in him, the man behind Zero’s mask is left with nowhere to turn. With his power waning and betrayals around him rising, the only option left on Lelouch’s board in this all-or- nothing game of political chess is to take on the Britannian Empire – and his father – from the inside.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.) SECTION

— Will you be releasing the film Code Geass Lelouch of Re;surrection?
We know a lot of people are hoping for a release of this, but we do want to make to make it clear that at this precise moment we only hold the rights specifically to these three films (Initiation, Transgression and Glorification.) If the opportunity were to come about to release Lelouch of the Re;surrection it’s certainly something we’d explore.

For those reading this not aware, there is a recent new Code Geass film call Lelouch of the Re;surrection which is set after the events of the story of these films / the original TV series.

— For the first film you authored your own disc. Have you done the same with these two films?
For films 2 & 3 we have not created our own disc master. Instead we are utilising the disc master created for each for the North American release. As a result the disc menu presentation and layout will differ to how it was presented on film 1. Additionally the discs being used for films 2 & 3 will also only include 5.1 audio.

— Will these films ever get dubbed? If they were would you go back and release them?
As far as we’re aware there are no plans for these films to be dubbed into English, but hypothetically if they were, it’s not something we can guarantee. We would at least explore the possibility of that though.

— Are there any plans to release this trilogy of films on DVD?
In short, no. There aren’t any plans for a DVD release at this time.

That’s all you need to know about our releases of these films! We hope you’re finally looking forward to completing your collection of this great trilogy!

Signing out~!
