WHAT WE PLANNED FOR THESE RELEASES
The series is being released on Blu-ray over two Ltd Collector’s Edition sets. It’s worth noting from the outset that series was never dubbed into English, so both Parts 1 & 2 are subtitle-only releases. (Meaning in Japanese with English subtitles only.)
Let’s focus on Part 1 first.

Format: Blu-ray Ltd Collector’s Edition
Release date: Available now
Cat. No.: ANI0229
Suggested Retail Price: £39.99
Part 1 includes episodes 1-7 over two Blu-ray discs inside an Amaray case. Additionally there’s also a box included that can also fit Part 2 (sold separately), so you can display the entire series together on your shelf!

PHOTOS OF THE FINISHED PRODUCTS!
Want to get a better look at our release of the series? Check out some photos below! You can click to enlarge them too.
Let’s start with photos of Plastic Memories: Part 1
- First up, we have the front of the rigid case with the cellophane around it. The BBFC sticker you see is attached to the cellophane and not on the case itself.
- The reverse side of the rigid case, cellophane around it. The info sheet (aka, onsert) you see here is removable. It’s attached to the case with a few glue dots. Simply peel it away gently to remove.
- Here’s a look at all four spines of the rigid case with the cellophane around it.
- Now with the cellophane removed, here’s the front of the rigid case. As you can see (if you hadn’t already) there’s a beautiful metallic style spot UV finish that really makes the design pop in the light!
- And here’s what’s underneath the onsert once you’ve removed; it’s actually a continuation of the image from the front – more on that in a few moments
- Here’s all four spines of the rigid case with the cellophane removed.
- I mentioned the rigid case is one continuous image, here’s (an attempt to show you as best I can)
- Now onto the Amaray case
- You get two sleeves designs. The default design (top) and the alternate version (bottom)
- Inside the box, here’s disc 1…
- …and here’s disc 2
- That’s Part 1 in its entirety!
Now, let’s take a look at Plastic Memories Part 2
- So, first of all here’s the product with the cellophane around it. The white band (aka, a belly band) you see here is wrapped around the case itself to keep the contents in place under the cellophane.
- The reverse side of the box, cellophane around it. This info sheet you see here is actually attached to the belly band – it’s underneath. You simply need to slip the belly band off once you’ve removed the cellophane. Simple as that.
- With the cellophane and belly band removed
- Let’s focus on the amaray case for a moment
- Here’s a look at the default sleeve design (top) and the reverse design (bottom) too!
- Inside the box, here’s a look at disc 1
- And a look at Disc 2
- Next up we’ve got 6 art cards to show you that showcase some lovely art created for the show
- Art card 1
- Art card 2
- Art card 3
- Art card 4
- Art card 5
- Art card 6
- For those interested, here’s what the back of the art cards look like
- And finally, here’s a look at the 34x40cm poster
Some of you will be wondering what the whole set will look like inside the box, so hopefully this image will help.
That concludes this unboxing of both Parts 1 & 2 of Plastic Memories! We hope you’re looking forward to adding these to your collection.
