“”The woman Miedo has helped discover??” Baloney!! Miedo herself is self reliant although living with family. But Meido does not sacrifice any of her fine qualities or talents to pursue her life as journalist and Ukiyo-e wood cut artist! And neither would Hamaji discount her conditioning, training and experiences as a huntress. Her “connecting “ is a oneness with her PREY!! Not a soulful or romantic connection. She kills upon connecting!! Hamaji would have blown Shido away were the anime not so set to create some illogical and unnatural mythological storyline concerning the impossibility of human - dog offspring. A very stupid aspect of what was a fabulous project. very beautifully drawn and painted, wonderfully animated but real stupid with human relationships. I remind you, if Hamaji’s “ connection” includes romantic connections then she made three connections with WOMEN. With Itezuma the prositute; with Shido wearing his Kabuki FEMALE actress costume and at the bridge with Meido!!! Shido is a double threat. He kills hunters of Fuse’ - Both her brother and she hunt Fuse’. Shido is what he is - Fuse’ and will kill either her brother or she eventually for their “essence.” That part that is human in Shido will cave in to the craving for essence. Dont believe that he will resist forever. A great anime very much worth owning!! I bought this but in Japan. I cant even watch it at home. But its great in spite of its flaws.
