March 23, 2016 · 0 comments
It’s time for the latest edition of the Newswire! Read on below for the latest updates direct from Anime Limited HQ.
~ First of all this coming Monday (28th March) sees 3 new releases available to add to your collection! These being Tokyo ESP (Ltd. Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD, standard DVD), Noein: To Your Other Self (Ltd. Collector’s Edition Blu-ray) and our standard edition of Kill la Kill Part 1 (Blu-ray, DVD). You can pre-order each of these from the likes of Amazon, Zavvi, Base and our web shop now.
~ Speaking of Tokyo ESP, we published an unboxing of our Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD set earlier today. You can check it out HERE. For those of you wanting to see a preview of our Noein release, we’ll be publishing an unboxing of it here at our blog tomorrow.
~ In case you missed it this past weekend we shared some big news! That being that we (Anime Limited) are going to be releasing Psycho-Pass The Movie on Blu-ray and DVD this year! You can read our announcement and check out a trailer for it HERE. As we mentioned, the plan for us to release it during the third quarter of the year and it will contain both the English dub and the original Japanese audio with subtitles. We haven’t got any more detail than that at this time, but as soon as we have more to say we’ll be sure to make it known.
~ Speaking of Psycho-Pass The Movie, if you’re in the Edinburgh area this Friday the film is being screened as part of a Scotland Loves Anime mini-programme of films at the Edinburgh Filmhouse. Also being screened is A Letter To Momo, Anthem of the Heart and Miss Hokusai. Get all the details at the Filmhouse website HERE.
Since we announced Psycho-Pass The Movie at the weekend we’ve had lots of questions about whether there might be more screenings planned prior to our release. We want to make it known that it is something we’re looking into, but at this time we don’t have any update on whether that will be possible or not. Obviously if/when there’s any update to that we’ll be sure to make it known.
~ A quick update on our upcoming Durarara!! x2 – The First Arc: Shou release, we can now show a provisional visual of our Ltd. Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release. Before we could only show the artwork of the rigid case itself. Check out the updated, but still not 100% final, visual below.
As we’ve talked about before, our release will include the entire first arc of Durarara!! x2, called ‘Shou’. This being 12 episodes total in English and Japanese with subtitles. It will come pack in a rigid case (top left), inside that a digipack (top centre) to hold the two Blu-ray discs. Also included is a 36-page art book, 6 art cards and a set of stickers. On-disc extras are the clean opening and closing title sequences. This will be released on 25th April and can be pre-ordered today from all retailers now including the likes Amazon, Zavvi, Base and our web shop.
For those of you planning to get the Standard DVD version of Durarara!! x2 Shou, here’s a first look at what that will look like. Just to confirm, the DVD version comes with the complete arc, episodes 1-12, in both English and Japanese with subtitles. On-disc extras are the clean opening and closing title sequences.
~ Last week we mentioned that Funimation had announced some details relating to their new Escaflowne English dub, and there’s an update following on from that as they’ve since announced two more cast members. First of all Sonny Strait (Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist, Krillin in Dragon Ball Z), who is also directing the English dub, will be playing the role of the knight Allen Schezar. Also Colleen Clinkenbeard (Erza in Fairy Tail, Hana in the film Wolf Children, Fullmetal Alchemist’s Riza Hawkeye) will be playing the role of the princess Milerna Aston.
A reminder we will be releasing the Escaflowne in the UK later this year. You can hear the last very detailed update about our plans in our most recent podcast HERE.
~ For those planning to get the standard DVD of Psychic School Wars, as oppose to our Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD set, today we can show you the artwork for that release. (See below.) More details on this can be found at our web shop HERE.
~ A quick note to everyone that with Easter being this weekend it means that some changes to our normal running. First of all our Anime Limited HQ will be closed on Good Friday. This also means that any orders placed at our web shop after 6pm this Thursday (24th March) and Sunday (27th) won’t be processed until Monday (28th) at the earliest.
